Warriors 2 shut-out by Buccaneers
On Saturday 10th May 2025 our second team welcomed Blackburn Buccaneers to Planet Ice for an IHSC Cup game.
This was the Warriors' sixth game in the IHSC Cup and their first since beating Sheffield Blazers 4-1.

Game summary
It was a night to forget for the Leeds Warriors as they suffered a heavy 0–9 defeat at home to the Blackburn Buccaneers in a one-sided contest that saw the visitors dominate from the first puck drop.
The Buccaneers came out flying in the opening period, taking full advantage of defensive lapses and finding the net five times without reply. Leeds looked stunned as Blackburn poured on the pressure, controlling possession and capitalising on nearly every opportunity.
Things didn't improve much in the second frame. Despite showing some signs of stabilising, the Warriors couldn’t generate meaningful chances, while the Buccaneers extended their lead with a sixth goal, effectively putting the game out of reach before the final period even began.
The third period saw Blackburn continue to dictate the pace, adding three more goals to round out a clinical and commanding performance. Meanwhile, the Warriors struggled to gain any foothold in the game, with offensive efforts falling flat and defensive mistakes proving costly.
It was a frustrating night for the Warriors, who will be looking for a strong response in their next outing.
